Venezuelans celebrate their "Independence Day" on July 5th but they also have another holiday on April 19th, which is their "Declaration of Independence Day".

These photos were taken from the balcony of our vacation rental at the Bahia Del Sol Condo Tower in Porlamar on Margarita Island.

I didn't realize what holiday the Isla Margarita locals were celebrating until after I finished taking pictures of the fireworks and was able to search online.

April 19th 1810 was when the Venezuelan people began their initial declaration of independence from Spain.

The holiday on July 5th celebrates when Simon Bolivar, a national hero, successfully fought against the Spaniards in 1811 to win Venezuela's national independence.
