Porlamar (PMV) to Port of Spain (POS)

Instead of flying back to the Caracas (CCS) airport in Venezuela, we chose to go to Trinidad & Tobago. Our flight was from the Porlamar (PMV) airport on Isla Margarita to the Port of Spain (POS) airport on the island of Trinidad located to the east of Margarita. El Yaque Beach

Playa El Yaque is a great white sand beach located on the central southern coast of Margarita Island not too far from the airport. Most of the beach is dominated by windsurfers and kite surfers. There area also a good selection of bars, restaurants and a few clubs. Many of the accomodations and services cater to the water sports enthusiasts. For more, click on the picture or link below.

Venezuelan Declaration of Independence Day

Town of El Yaque

During our taxi driver guide tour of Isla Margarita, he took us to the town of El Yaque. This town is best known as a windsurfing and kite surfing attraction to many enthusiasts across the world. Many of the hotels have surfing themed names. For more, click on the link or image below.

Castillo De Santa Rosa

Sambil Margarita Mall

Isla Margarita Taxi Tour

Another highlight of our trip to Margarita Island was a tour given by our usual taxi driver. The cost was about $10 an hour to have him drive us to just about every beach on Isla Margarita. Playa Zaragoza – Pedro Gonzalez

Playa Guacuco

Playa Guacuco is yet another great white sand beach on the eastern coast of Isla Margarita. It is located in between Playa Parguito and the town of Pampatar.
